SEO Consultants - Myths
Traffic from SEO won't last
I can not disagree with this particular myth enough.
In fact, the websites I market with Search engine optimisation have consistently been easier to maintain compared to those I promote with practically any other traffic technique, including pay-per-click.
Pay per click is especially unkind to its advertisers and if you have ever spent a week setting up a campaign only to have it double in cost the following week (turning out to be totally unprofitable in the process) you understand precisely what I'm talking about.
So hopefully you will not mind if I'm frank and just come out and say it ...
I think this SEO myth has been perpetuated by people who don't use good SEO rules when building their websites.
So yes, if someone puts together a site that doesn't have anything to offer, then they build low quality links to it, even if they manage to get top rankings at all, those rankings (and the traffic) are going to be short-lived.
So I can see how folks who don't know what they're doing when it comes to SEO believe this myth.
But it's far from reality
My System uses sound SEO principles so the sites I build get top rankings and stay there.
In fact, my sites usually keep moving up in the search engine results even after I stop promoting them.
So I'm seeing the exact opposite of what this myth states.
And it's not like I've just done this for the last year.
ur first site was created in 2000. It took us a while to understand everything we were doing properly. But we figured out the basics we started getting number 1 rankings for competitive keywords, We have stayed there. For years.
So every time we decide to do more work to promote a site we usually end up with higher rankings or rankings for new words, which brings even more traffic.
So ranking positions just don't slip
It istru that if your competitors out perform you, they will go ahead of you. But that is not the same as 'slipping' down the rankings.
Contrast this with PPC, as there is much more 'hand holding' involved with paid advertising than with an SEO campaign set-up with solid principles.
As I soon as you decide not to pay for PPC ads anymore, they'll stop sending traffic.
If your traffic is from SEO it will be constant which actually gives a website an inherent value. Usually being ble to sell for a 5 figures!
Smart investors realise these sites have been built the right way and will continue to receive traffic for a long time to come.
So although a lot of people like to say that high rankings don't last, it isn't exactly true.
Especially not if you know what you're doing.
SEO can result in very stable traffic, traffic that you really can depend on.
